Your Inquiries ; Frequently Asked Questions
Now, I would be lying if I said that all of these questions were "frequently asked," but doesn't every site have a little section like this? I like to call this my pre-emptive attack for future frequently asked questions, ahahaha. If your question isn't answered in this section, don't hesitate to . :] So, let's get to the questions, shall we?
Why did you make this site?
Because of the sheer awesomeness that is Final Fantasy Tactics. This game is, (reason unbeknownst to me), way underrated, and I took it upon myself to make its fabulous presence known to others, even if I don't impact a huge number of people. If I can convince just a handful of people that this game is one of the greatest out of the entire series (way better than FFVII :P - har har, j/k!), then I've done my job! :D
Why is the name of this site "Requiem"?
I may have addressed this somewhere else on the site, but just incase you missed it (or I didn't), I chose that name because it is my favorite track from the game. It plays only one time (if memory serves me correctly), but it's a track that has always stayed with me. Orchestrated genius is what it is.
What platform is FFT on, and where can I purchase it?
You can play this lovely gem of a game on the Sony PlayStation. (And if you don't have a PlayStation, go get one, silly!) As for game availability, you can pretty much find it anywhere. While circulation of the game used to be limited (thus making it an extremely rare and expensive find), after the re-release as a "Greatest Hit," it is no longer hard to find and sells at a relatively inexpensive price.
I heard the storyline sucks but the gameplay's pretty cool. Is this true?
Absolutely not! The storyline is the most redeeming factor behind playing Tactics. While I mean absolutely no offense to anybody out there, the storyline is extremely complicated and is usually damn near impossible to understand with only one play through. The reason I say this is because there are so many names to absorb, that it's like a freaking history lesson. If you like everything except the storyline, try playing it again; you'll probably like it much better the second time. (I know I liked it the most my sixth time through, hence this site's creation!)
I don't have an FFT site, but I have a gaming site. Will you link me?
I'm not too terribly picky about linkages, so ask me, and I'll probably link you. The only thing is, I do want your site to be gaming-related... if you have an anime site you'd like linked, head over to Aishiteru. :]
Hey, wanna affiliate with my site?
Maybe. :] I am sickeningly picky about who I affiliate with. There's nothing more I hate out there than those pretty, graphics-intense sites with absolutely no content... ugh! Content trumps a pretty layout any day, in my book. So, if I haven't scared you yet, here are my requirements:
- 01. It must be a gaming site. It can be dedicated to anything, but I have to have played it, so I can decipher whether or not your content is fantastic.
- 02. While it doesn't have to be the most beautiful site in the world, I don't want it to be an eyesore. ^_^ I also don't want to see a million errors all over the page; I'd prefer a relatively HTML-passable site.
- 03. I really don't care about hits. Just have content that blows me away.
How did you make this site?
With the aid of Photoshop CS2 (for graphics) and Notepad for my handwritten XHTML. I've been making sites since 1999, with a focus on graphics somewhere around 2001. I don't think I'm wonderful, but I think I'm decent. :] I also run my HTML and CSS through a validator, so it works well in most browsers.
Can I direct link your images?
No, bandwidth is an expensive little thing, and I'd be appreciative of you respecting my (lack of) money. Haha. Besides, my htaccess file doesn't allow direct linking, so nyah.
Can I use the images in your gallery?
Unless otherwise stated, yes. The only thing you can't take and use in your own gallery are the sprites, since I got permission to use them exclusively on my site. Go to the creator's site and ask him for permission if you want his sprites for your site.
